Punk stencils: our icons go rebellious

Punk stencils from the Punkified collection featuring Einstein, Charlie Chaplin, the Milkmaid, Athena, Che Guevara and The Scream in a rebellious version with studded jackets and the graffiti 'PUNKIFIED' in the background

Everyone knows Mona Lisa, Einstein, or the Statue of Liberty.
These images belong to our collective memory. We see them everywhere, usually frozen, almost untouchable. So why not shake them up a little?

That’s the idea behind Punkified: a series of punk stencils that take famous figures and turn them into rebels. Studded jackets, badges, anarchist symbols… and a good dose of humor.

The spirit of the collection

Punk is not just music or a way of dressing. It’s an attitude: saying no, breaking rules, provoking.
When that mindset is applied to characters everyone knows, the contrast is immediate. And often, it’s funny.

Seeing Einstein stick out his tongue in a patched-up leather jacket makes people smile.
Imagining Vermeer’s Milkmaid with an anarchist symbol on her chest feels unexpected.
And Munch’s Scream, already full of angst, almost becomes the perfect punk mascot.

There’s also a lightness to it. Serious images are twisted into something more playful, more alive.

Punk stencils already available

The collection already brings together several iconic figures:

  • Mona Lisa
  • Che Guevara
  • The Statue of Liberty
  • Charlie Chaplin
  • The Scream
  • Athena
  • The Milkmaid
  • Einstein

Each brings a different kind of energy. Some make you smile, some intrigue, and some look surprisingly natural in this rebellious role.

And this is just the beginning. More icons are on the way. The next names remain secret for now, but they might surprise—and amuse—even more.

An attitude to paint

Punkified is not just about famous icons in leather jackets.
Each punk stencil carries an attitude.
A sly smile, a defiant look, a striking pose.

It’s no longer just a familiar image, but a presence ready to take over a canvas, a wall, or any creation in progress.
Something that changes everything the moment it appears in an artwork.

Why these punk stencils stand out

These stencils resonate for several reasons:

  • Humor: Einstein or the Milkmaid in punk gear always works.
  • Contrast: the more “untouchable” the original figure, the stronger the effect.
  • Curiosity: the urge to see who will be next to cross over to the rebel side.
  • Collection spirit: it’s hard to stop at just one. You can already imagine a whole series together.
  • Freedom: each artist creates their own version, without limits of style or outcome.

This is why Punkified is more than just a series of punk stencils. It’s a creative spark, an idea that pushes artists to paint differently.

A growing series

Punkified is not a fixed collection. It’s constantly evolving.
Each new stencil enriches this parallel gallery where our icons are reimagined.
And as the series grows, it forms a coherent whole—almost like an alternative fresco of art history.

The first designs are already available.
It’s up to each artist to choose which icon sets the tone in their creations: Mona Lisa the ironic, Einstein the provocateur, or maybe the Statue of Liberty in a rebellious version.
