I airbrushed over an old painting using automotive paints. The bright red, rubbed with black, enhanced the impression of speed. The nude diver looked very vulnerable and gave the picture a depressing feeling. Once covered with gold leaf, he became a focused adventurer.
I love and feel deeply inspired by the No Drones, No Cameras stencils in 6". Brushed on with white acrylic, they stood out like guardians, with fast action below them.
By rubbing metallic copper lightly and letting black drip, these little figures became part of the turbulence, while slowing down the sense of action and the illusion of speed.
