My first john Beckley stencil was purchased in 2025, and I remember wondering whether this style of art might give me a new outlook on my amateur artistic life. My artistic skills went as far back when I was in school but my parents discouraged me from being an artist. Now, as a retired professional, art had never played a meaningful role in my world until I discovered John’s YouTube videos. Since then, I have been captivated by his work and by the freedom and passion he brings to every piece.
Now, in my mid‑70s, I’ve found a passion I never expected to have at this stage of life. I don’t have a formal studio, just a converted garage that I have painted the walls and ceiling in all sorts of colors, much to my wife’s amusement (and occasional frustration). We are moving from Florida to Texas soon, and the home we purchased has a real studio space. I am genuinely excited to create more pieces inspired by John Beckley’s incredible stencil designs.
I even asked John if he would create a custom stencil of my wife, and the likeness he produced amazed me. The level of detail he achieved in a simple plastic stencil was remarkable from a small color photo. I haven’t started the piece yet, but I’m planning something that will not only please her but also reflect John’s street‑art style. My first attempt at stencil work wasn’t great, but it taught me a lot. Each new stencil is an improvement, and I am enjoying the process of learning.
I have on occasions traditionally painted in a more classic style, but that feels like a thing of the past now. The John Beckley style of art has become my new calling, and I’m grateful to have discovered it.

This is my 5th stencil I have baught a finish keep coming back! I use spray paint and acrylic and each time the stencil is just so easy to use I love it!

I created this painting using Amsterdam brand acrylic paints. The stencil was delivered very quickly and arrived in excellent condition. As always, the packaging was perfect.

Not a original design kept in house colours, As painting for a young lad who's all things F1 Paticaly ferrari and Hamilton so this stencil is near enough, He is over the moon with the stencil detail.

At first, I was surprised at how then the Mylar Stencil was. But, when I used it, it worked extremely well. It left very clean lines and I was a very happy with it.

I appreciate companies that create quality tools designed for artists rather than disposable products. A well-made stencil isn't just a template—it's an investment that can inspire countless pieces over time. Cherub Angel will be stenciled in grey acrilic paint and his story will be created around him in oils. I will use gold leaf and his paint brush will be used to guide his first performance on canvas.

I used it today for the first time, and now I think it is one cool smoky design!! I LOVE IT !!!

I use oil paints, fluorescent sticks and sand paper …prime the canvas a three times to give it a very distinctive texture and look. Waiting for oil paint to completely dry and finish with a varnish.
